Every award names a specific field and the business our editor judges best in it. Each one is published with a written citation, a film and a podcast episode.
Narrow awards, honestly decided
We don't run a national contest with thousands of entries. Each award covers one field, kept narrow on purpose, and says who is best in it and why.

- A trade in a town, a specialism in a region, or work that few businesses do.
- The judgement
- The editor looks at who works in the field and how they are known. If a business is the only one doing the work, the citation says so.
- The citation
- A plain explanation of the award, published with a film and a podcast episode.
Many winners commission their feature from us. That pays for the citation, film and podcast. It doesn't change the criteria. Read the criteria
